Membership fees are 70$, valid until January 1, 2015, and include 50 receipts. Liability insurance fees are extra and required (starting from 98$ annually). A public listing is also required, but free - details below.

 History
AQTN is a new regulatory body in Quebec, established in June 2010 and incorporated in January 2011, offering some unique advantages with respect to other alternative groups.
Most common question: How do you deliver everything for 70$?
... while competitors average 200 $ a year. It's simple. AQTN does not have salaried employees, we do not pay rent, and we have a marketing and growth plan based on word of mouth, personalized service and top ranking search engine results, with little paid publicity. These three items are significant costs for others organisations. We are growing slowly, which is ideal to manage, gaining therapists one by one. We take the time to speak with therapists to explain issues, which are then eventually posted on our FAQ, leading to fewer and fewer questions.
What am I buying when I pay the AQTN fee?
You are essentially purchasing the right to use our privileged relationship with insurance carriers in order to deliver extra value to your customers - namely through receipts - and therefore to help your business as a therapist thrive.
For profit, or Association
Legally, we are a profit-seeking corporation. Non-profit Quebec Corporations require 5 board members and unfortunately we have less than 5, although the upside is that this leads to immense flexibility. Incorporation protects the founders from any lawsuits. With revenue under the cut-off of 30,000 $ a year, we avoid the need to charge taxes, thus benefiting both our therapists and AQTN.

What is AQTN's vision?

How exactly is AQTN different

Code of Ethics
- Our code of ethics specifies a maximum dollar amount that can be charged per visit, to protect the public.
- An exception process has been put into place for therapists treating family members, which normally is not permitted, to protect insurers.
- We have included guidelines concerning the use of social media.

- AQTN members can send invoices electronically, saving time and paper.
- A plasticized membership card is available free upon request.
- A business card template automatically creates a design for you to use.
- AQTN has the lowest membership cost in the Quebec industry.
- An online tax-preparation tool is available to all members.
- Full page color attestations are available for free.
- If you inadvertently run out of receipts, you can print some for free.
- Telephone and email response time is 24 hours with very few exceptions.
- Discounts on various online services are offered, as promotional tools.
- Most receipts issued by you from AQTN are tax-deductible by your clients (massage therapy as an example is not legally tax-deductible in Quebec).
Insurer Company Recognition
An important question is what insurers recognize AQTN? At the moment, large insurers like Sun Life, Great West Life, Manulife, RBC, AGA, Empire Life and Groupe Premier Medical cover some or all of our therapists, always according to the contractual limitations to the specific policy in force.
Liability insurance
Liability insurance is yet another offering from AQTN, with three brokers to choose from! The cost is not included in the registration fee, and depends on the protection level you want. In future, we anticipate being able to obtain highly reduced prices based on volume. Liability insurance may well become mandatory at that time. Meanwhile, we strongly urge all existing members to make use of our available policies.
Transparency
All massage therapists and naturopaths will be required to either have a website or be listed on a directory with details of their services. Currently we are encouraging the following free massage therapist directory and this free naturopath directory to satisfy these criteria, as both are free.
